SMR Diesel Trucks in Lac La Biche is hiring an Automotive/Light Duty Technician.
The ideal candidate must comprehensively understand automotive and Diesel engines and systems.

- Adjust, test and repair engines, steering systems, braking systems, drive trains, vehicle suspensions, electrical systems and air-conditioning systems, and do wheel alignments.
- Conducting diagnostic procedures to identify the cause of automotive issues and make effective and accurate recommendations
- Conducting necessary repairs and testing vehicles before handing them back to customers
- Inspecting vehicles to ensure they meet provincial requirements for safety and emissions
- Maintaining knowledge of current industry best practices
- Maintaining paperwork and customer records
- Ensuring equipment longevity
- Maintaining a clean and safe workplace
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- automotive technician: 2 years (Experience minimum)
- Driver’s License (Required)
- Journeyman (Preferred) & Apprentices are Welcome
- Experience with GM, Ford, Dodge and all light duty Diesel trucks – (Preferred)
- Must have own Tools

Heavy Duty Truck Transport Technician

The ideal candidate must have a comprehensive understanding of heavy duty and diesel engines and systems.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Opportunities for advancement within our dealer network.
- As CUMMINS authorized dealer – in house and Cummins training is available
- Troubleshooting mechanical and electrical problems with on Highway Trucks & Trailers.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and communicate with other mechanics, shop staff
- The disassembly/overhaul of engines or engine components, transmissions, drive systems components, and other assemblies
- The diagnosis of equipment problems, identifying and replacing worn or broken parts as required, and making all necessary adjustments and alignments
- Ability to operate computer-based maintenance troubleshooting software such as CAT, Cummins Insite, J-Pro, Detroit
- Focused, energetic and organized, with superior attention to detail and a sense of urgency
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Truck Transport Technician Journeyman Certificate from a recognized provincial training authority is considered an asset.
- Experience: Two (2) years of relevant work experience.
- Cummins, Cat, Mack, Detroit, & Paccar experience is an asset.
- Must have own tools
- Driver’s License ( Required )
